ABOUT

As a lifelong Hudsonville resident, HPS graduate, parent of four district students, and finance professional, I am running for school board to support students, strengthen family partnerships empower teachers, and provide responsible, community-focused leadership.

MY STORY

Rooted in Hudsonville

Hudsonville has been my home for more than 33 years. It is where I grew up, and it is where my wife and I are now raising our four children, ages 5, 6, 10, and 12. We are both proud graduates of Hudsonville Public Schools, and today our children attend Jamestown Lower Elementary and Riley Middle School.

Our family chose to build our life here because of Hudsonville’s strong schools, close-knit neighborhoods, and shared commitment to family and community. As graduates of the district and parents of four current HPS students, my wife and I have experienced firsthand the lasting impact these schools have on students, families, and the broader community.

I have also had the opportunity to give back by volunteering with youth sports. Coaching and working with young athletes has given me an even deeper appreciation for the importance of positive role models, teamwork, discipline, encouragement, and creating opportunities for every child to grow. It has also allowed me to build relationships with students and families throughout our community and better understand the hopes and challenges parents share.

Professionally, my background in commercial banking and finance has taught me how to evaluate complex issues, ask thoughtful questions, manage resources responsibly, build consensus, and make sound decisions with long-term consequences. I believe those skills would allow me to bring a practical, balanced, and accountable approach to school board service.

Running for the Hudsonville Board of Education is an opportunity to give back to the school district and community that have given my family so much.

I am running to champion the priorities that bring our community together: strong academics, supported teachers, safe and respectful classrooms, engaged parents, responsible financial stewardship, and thoughtful leadership.

Every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. Every teacher deserves the support and resources needed to do their best work. Every parent deserves transparency, trust, and a meaningful voice in their child’s education. Every taxpayer deserves confidence that decisions are being made responsibly and with the long-term interests of our schools and community in mind.

Hudsonville has a strong foundation. My goal is to build on that success, protect what makes our schools special, and help ensure every student is prepared for a strong and successful future.
